Badock's Wood Work Party - Sunday 20th March 2022
You will all no doubt have noticed that every weekend in February - or so it seemed - the weather was wet. This meant we were unable to hold any planned work parties.
With the period during which we can coppice hazel and other shrubs coming to an end in a couple of weeks, we will be undertaking coppicing this Sunday, 20th March. There are hazel in need of coppicing in the Holmwood Copse on the Recreational Field and in the woodland near the Triangle.
Depending on volunteer numbers we may also do some work on the trees around the large mosaic and some work in the pond area to level the ground.
If you have your own tools - spades, loppers etc that is great but not essential as we can provide tools and gloves - but good stout waterproof footwear and clothing are a must.
Please let us know you are coming by registering using - this Eventbrite form. This allows us to just have an automatic list with your name and contact details.
Bird Identification Training

Roger Moses will be running a training session on bird identification for birds commonly seen and heard in Badock's Wood. This training begins indoors and Roger will show pictures, videos and / or play sound files of birds. After that he will lead a short walk in the wood to put the training into practice and see if he and those attending can find and identify some of the birds in the wood.
